FUBUNATION

This performance is presented in a double bill with Ruins, by Fubunation

In this extract from their powerful and beautiful series Ruins, Rhys Dennis and Waddah Sinada open a dialogue surrounding the myth of masculinity as it is felt within the Pan-African diaspora. FUBUNATION are deconstructing the power struggle within themselves and finding the balance between conflict, vulnerability, and co-dependency. By doing so, they own and repair their deeper anxieties that they have learned so well to mask. This work is a testimony of the generational trauma inherited by men from marginalised groups with the mission of creating a space where the black male figure is more visible & honestly represented in its full complexity.

FUBUNATION is a dance organisation directed by choreographers Rhys Dennis, Waddah Sinada and creative producer Steph Be. Their aim is to encourage diversity in dance by sharing openly and authentically their own rich experiences as black men.
